This book is the result of contributions from twelve authors. We’ve included a brief biographical sketch of each author below. The authors are listed in the order they appear in the book.
Pat Williams
Chapter 1 - The Power of Paradox
Pat Williams is Senior Vice President of the NBA’s Orlando Magic and
one of America's best-known sports executives. He drafted Charles Barkley and
Shaquille O’Neal, and 12 of his former players have become NBA Head Coaches. He is
the author of 44 books, including his latest, Read for Your Life. Williams is also a
devoted father to 19 children, 14 of whom are adopted from four foreign countries. As

Dr. Belinda Johnson White
Chapter 3 - Leading with Motivation
Belinda Johnson White, Ph.D., is Assistant Professor, Department of
Business, Morehouse College, Atlanta, GA, and coordinator of the Leadership Studies
Minor. Dr. White also serves as a consultant, speaker and workshop facilitator in the area
of leadership development for numerous profit and non-profit organizations. Prior to her
academic career, she worked for thirteen years at the IBM Corporation in marketing,
sales and sales training. She has a special love in her heart for helping young people learn
leadership skills that will help them to be effective in their private, professional and
public lives. Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Belinda, husband Bob and two
adult children, Robert and Bethany, live in Atlanta.
Suzie DeBusk
Chapter 3 - The Courage to Lead
Entrepreneur, leadership instructor, African adventurer.
Whether it comes to talking with clients about their business solutions, coaching people
on their interpersonal and communication skills, or dealing with a charging elephant,
Suzie DeBusk has a story to tell about it. Having founded and run her own technology
firm since 1988, DeBusk has remarkable insight into what it takes to build and maintain a
business. Additionally, she has been a lead instructor in a technology and leadership
program within Fortune 50 companies for more than six years. But this obviously busy
schedule hasn’t kept her from having some amazing adventures outside of the work
place. DeBusk has done more than a dozen African safaris, the first eight of which were
done on horseback, doing long gallops across the plains of Kenya, being charged by
elephant and buffalo and many, many more adventures.
DeBusk has a unique perspective on the journey of life, work and the adventure of it all.
Through her use of anecdotes and amusing stories and tales, she weaves a thought
provoking message about life, personal growth, and achievement. In addition to keynote
topics regarding maximizing your leadership potential and developing the leader within,
DeBusk conducts seminars and workshops which provide skills practice intended to
improve areas of development such as communication, create greater self-awareness and
provide content and exercises in many other aspects of improvement.
Greg Kozera
Chapter 4 - Learned Leadership
Greg Kozera is a leadership coach who has held leadership positions in the
energy industry for over 30 years. In addition to being a sought after speaker, Greg has
been involved in engineering, management and sales. In addition Greg has held
leadership positions in trade and technical associations. Mr. Kozera has been a church
youth group leader, church parish council president, president of the local youth soccer
association and a Boy Scout leader for over 10 years. He is also a Junior Achievement
consultant teaching Success Skills which he has done for over 15 years. His passion is
helping high school and college students develop their full leadership potential.
Mr. Kozera is the Boy’s Assistant Varsity High School Soccer Coach at Charleston
Catholic High School. He has helped coach teams to several state tournament
appearances and are consistently ranked in the top 10 in the state. He has been called,
"Their Inspirational/Motivational Leader".
Greg is a published author and is a monthly motivational/inspirational columnist. He is a
member of the National Speakers Association and is on the board of directors of his Ohio
Chapter.
He lives with his wife, Lynnda in Pinch, West Virginia. They have 3 grown children and
6 grandchildren.
Brian Johnson
Chapter 5 - Leading the Multi-Generational Workforce
As a managing vice president for Hitachi Consulting, Mr. Johnson is
responsible for profitable growth and intellectual property development in the areas of
sales, marketing, and customer service optimization and automation. Mr. Johnson has
spent his entire 21 year professional career assisting companies with improving and
automating their customer facing functions.
Mr. Johnson has extensive experience in helping clients develop strategies, architect
technology solutions, plan for complex global implementations, and manage the process
and organizational change required to successfully transform themselves into customercentric
organizations.
Prior to joining Hitachi Consulting, Mr. Johnson spent ten years leading commercial
software development teams in the creation of software for sales, customer service, direct
marketing, field service, human resources, and financial applications.
Mr. Johnson holds a Bachelor degree in Computer Science and Economics as well as an
MBA in Information Systems from the University of Colorado. Mr. Johnson is a Ph.D.
Candidate in Applied Management and Decision Sciences at Walden University.
Stan Levanduski
Chapter 6 - The Fine Art of Failing…and Living to Tell About It
Stan Levanduski has served in a variety of leadership roles since the mid
1970’s. He’s been a commissioned US Naval officer with a career spanning 23 years and
retiring as a Commander, and has also held a variety of management and executive
positions in the aerospace industry as well as in commercial technology development
companies.
Currently, Stan is the President of J-SAW Enterprises, Inc., a consulting organization,
which provides coaching, mentoring and training for companies in the areas of leadership
development and program management.
Mr. Levanduski is a graduate of Penn State, the US Naval Postgraduate School and Troy State University.
Stan, his wife Joy, and their two children, Wes and Ashley, now live in Paso Robles, CA,
part of California’s Central Coast. Stan has been regularly involved in the community
through service on the airport board, school district support groups and the Boy Scouts of
America.
Susan West
Chapter 7 - Leading by Example
Susan West has held several executive management positions during her twenty-six years of experience. She has spent six years in executive coaching and twenty years in staffing services and general business administration.
West is an executive leader who coaches people to accomplish goals they thought were out of reach; who shares knowledge creating power in others; and who motivates teams for breakthrough results.
She knows the demands of holding an executive position, as President of TechCentral, she was instrumental in bringing the owners together to create a new joint venture and establish the infrastructure foundation to operate the company. Her process leadership and business strategy skills generated nearly $20 million of cost savings to a Fortune 100 client earning Supplier of the Year Award. She also serves as President for the Automotive Women’s Alliance Foundation.
Ms. West received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Business Administration and Economics from Alma College. She also holds a Masters of Arts in Business Administration from Central Michigan University.
Beth Montag-Schmaltz and M. Tamra Chandler
Chapter 8 - Adapting Your Leadership Style to Enable Transformational Change
Beth Montag-Schmaltz, Vice President Organizational Change Management Practice
Beth is the Vice President of Hitachi Consulting’s Organizational Change Management
(OCM) Practice. As a thought leader and industry expert in Organizational Change
Management, Beth is an author of leading edge articles and white papers that provide
companies with the unconventional wisdom to not only reach their business goals, but
exceed them through a practical approach to OCM. Beth’s years as a researcher,
practioner and an innovator of OCM methodologies and tools, allows her to guide

M. Tamra Chandler Managing Vice President - Global Solutions and People
Tamra Chandler has almost 20 years of experience in helping clients through change programs designed to enhance business performance. She has developed a reputation for managing complex business integration projects that require a blend of strategy, technical and change management skills. As an executive with Hitachi, Tamra has two strategic roles: first she oversees the employee life at Hitachi Consulting, the process by which the firm attracts, grows, and retains ins most valuable assets – its people; and secondly, she is accountable for defining and executing the company’s Go-to-Market Solutions. Shawn Miller
Chapter 9 - Preparing to Lead
Shawn Miller owns and operates several businesses. He has been successful in leadership and in business because of some very basics methods and resources. He has spoken and entertained around the world with the likes of Martin Lawrence, Chris Tucker and Dave Chapelle. He has written six books and has published hundreds of business manuals, reports and articles. Shawn offers over 100 self-help tapes. He has studied mind and body fitness, holistic stress management, lifestyle and weight management, mental skills training and religion.
Adam Witty
Chapter 10 - Leading a Team
Adam likes to talk about the entrepreneurial spirit and the American
dream. At the age of 19, Adam decided that it was high time to bring those dreams to life
and started a business out of his dorm room.

Gary Newell
Chapter 11 - Servant Leadership
Gary Newell is the founder and President of Outreach America, Inc.,
Veritas Sports Academy, Inc., and The Veritas Institute Of Mentoring; all of which are
dedicated to helping young people and adults reach their leadership potential. He is a
highly acclaimed speaker, and has spoken to over one million people on four continents.
For over twenty years, Gary, has operated sports camps across America, designed to
reach inner-city youth with a message of spiritual truths and principles for successful
living. He finds his greatest joy in life as a husband and father of four.
